Professional Qualifications: | Mr. Bonnell originally joined our firm in 1994 and returned in 2002 after working seven years in varying engineer/project manager roles in Hampton Roads. He has served as design engineer and project manager on numerous projects. His responsibilities have included civil designs for various systems and site/subdivision plans for a wide variety of uses including medical/transitional care facilities; office; retail; commercial; residential (single family and multi-family sites); industrial; water distribution, sanitary sewer collection, pump stations and force mains; lakes and drainage; and city roadways. Capacity and overflow analysis on existing pump stations and sewer systems is also in his realm of expertise. |
Design Experience: | Over the years, Mr. Bonnell's clients have included architects; private developers and property owners; U.S. Navy (LANTDIV and various Public Works Departments); U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; U.S. Coast Guard; and local municipalities (Virginia Beach; Portsmouth; Norfolk; and Chesapeake). Past design experience includes: landfill plans; security improvement plans; soil remediation plans; various airfield pavement plans; various industrial pavement plans. Mr. Bonnell has successfully provided engineering services throughout Hampton Roads; at various locations in Virginia; in various states including New York, Utah, Maryland, North Carolina, Georgia, and West Virginia; in Bermuda; in Puerto Rico; and in Guantanamo Bay Cuba. Mr. Bonnell has also served as construction manager for contract negotiations; reviewing pay requests; general contract administration. |
Recent Accomplishments: | During the spring of 2009, Mr. Bonnell played a key role in winning a municipal project with the City of Chesapeake entitled "South Norfolk Sanitary Sewerline Renewals". Hassell & Folkes, P.C. ranked first out of four (4) local engineering firms selected. |
